A FEW of my FAVES
BREAKFAST/BRUNCH
Considered (and continually voted) Bozeman's Best Breakfast, Nova is my favorite. It's busy and there's always a line, but it's worth it. Also serves lunch!
It's just about the oldest place in Bozeman - I think it has been around for nearly 100 years. Classic...you'll probably see legit cowboys (or at least legit belt buckles).
A newer place in Bozeman - it's a bit more of a Bozeman meets NYC feel. They are also the only breakfast place that serves beer and wine.
Owned by the same people as own Nova, it is a bit more interesting and upscale. Plus the entire menu is gluten-free and if I didn't tell you...you wouldn't have noticed! Also - it's not on Main and requires a short drive north of town. Also serves lunch!
A great brunch at a wine bar that also serves mimosas - this is a great option. You can sit outside and enjoy great food...just make sure you have a reservation.
Locally owned by two very cool sisters (and the daughters of a wheat farmer), this place boasts great local and organic good. Plus they serve bottomless mimosas :)
LUNCH
Starky's is well-known among locals as offering one of the city’s best happy hours, with microbrew beers, half-priced appetizers and downtown Bozeman’s only heated and covered outdoor patio. The restaurant’s atmosphere is contemporary, yet welcoming, with a menu of classic delicatessen-style items like Philly cheese steaks for lunch, and a more American-inspired dinner menu of fresh fish and hand-cut steaks, along with fresh pasta, soups and pizza, all made daily from scratch.
Fresh, artisan comfort food from the creators of the Nova Cafe, feed cafe offers a fresh array of delicious breakfast and lunch items. Order at the counter and enjoy your meal in the comfy, farm-chic atmosphere.
Yes...you can find these on the east coast...but Ted actually LIVES part time in Bozeman and I've seen him at the restaurant a couple times...so this one is worth going to. It's classic Montana fare. Bison burgers, salads, etc. ....it's good.
DINNER
Easily Bozeman's most popular and highly rated restaurant. It's great. Seriously. Make reservations NOW. It is tough to get into. Artisan pizza, pasta, the best salads you've ever had...and a good wine list.
A fantastic and pretty authentic Italian restaurant just south of downtown Bozeman. Highly recommend it.
A classic Montana place, this is a carnivore's paradise. I asked for vegetarian or vegan options one time and the owner started laughing. It's a good restaurant with good service - and it has been featured on NPR. Reservations required. They also have a good bar.
It isn't walking distance from Main Street but it is worth the drive. Locally sourced meats and vegetables, sustainable seafood and a great wine list. Plus good ambiance. Make reservations.
Wine Bars
A Bozeman classic and mainstay. They have GREAT wine and cocktails...plus they serve lunch and dinner. It's definitely worth popping in for a drink. There are front and back patios, too.
Newer than Plonk and smaller...but also great. They serve weekend brunch and dinner as well.
